Every year I try to find something new to make for a craft for Christmas. Either if it's for a gift or a specific tree I decorate. This year I happened upon this wonderful gal and her blog http://the-feathered-nest.blogspot.com/. Now I'm sure that most of you have heard about her somewhere or another. Well she has this adorable mitten craft with a tutorial and I was like THATS IT!!!! I immediatly fell in love with this porject and couldnt wait to make them. I have about 20 made so far and plan on making a ton more. Most for my tree but some for Gift wrapping also. There very easy to make. I'm going with a Vintage theme because thats how I roll!!!! This vintage button on the mitten down towards the bottom that just sparkles to all ends was my grandmothers. Now I had about 4 of these and have used the others for other projects but this last one I used for this project. I can't wait to hang it on my daughters tree in her bedroom!!!! So if your wanting to do an easy project head on over there! You won't be dissapointed!!!!
OHMYGOODNESS!!! They turned out GORGEOUS!!! I'm so glad you liked the tutorial ~ and you did such an amazing job, I love the pink hues...LOVE THEM!!! Thank you so much for the link love ~ I've got to share a pic on my blog too! xxoo, Dawn
Seriously, I just saw that yesterday on her blog and said to myself, "Self, you could easily pop out like a zillion of those before Christmas time-- get cracking!" lol Of course, I always have to do more-more-more... I'm thinking ice skates with the same materials....
I love your mittens - they turned out so pretty! I found that tutorial on Dawn's blog earlier this year and I've just been waiting for the opportunity to make a batch of them. I've had about a dozen of them sewn together for a couple weeks and this weekend I hope to get them "prettied up"! I hope they look as nice as yours!
